Senior Quantity Surveyor

Currently seeking a senior quantity surveyor to work for a UK tier one main contractor to work on a major project.

Requirements:

Previously worked for a main contractor and must be a UK resident

Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor with career spanning more than 2 years, working on a wide variety of infrastructure construction projects.

Has extensive knowledge of Quantity Surveying with particular knowledge of the New Engineering Contracts (NEC 2/3), framework contracts, alliance agreements and FIDIC conditions of contracts, cost management and planning systems, financial reporting, subcontractor procurement & management, valuations, compensation events and client liaison.

Multi-discipline preferred but all experience will be considered
Key Responsibilities include:
• Project Set-up – attending Estimators hand-over meeting, Tender Analysis, cost coding, finalizing project allowances and margin / commercial recovery targets.
• Supply Chain – developing Procurement schedule in consultation with project / contracts manager, Subcontractor selection, enquiry / tender documentation, arranging pre-tender meetings, subcontract order preparation, valuations, assessments/certification, change management, contra-charges, progress meetings, subcontractor’s final account negotiations and finalizations.
• Project Cost Management – Daily site diaries, records of work done, joint measurements, cross-checking resources, monitoring productivity & utilization, material reconciliation, wastage analysis, formulating cost reduction strategy, cost to complete / cost plan.
• Project Value Management – monthly client applications/valuations, certifications, raising invoices / credit notes etc. on system, liasioning with client & their accounts department for timely payments, weekly cash updates, monthly spend profile.
• Project Change Management – raising early warnings by going through technical queries/diaries/minutes of meetings etc, arranging / attending risk reduction meetings, risk register, preparation & submission of quotations for compensation events as per the contract, liasioning with client/employer commercial people.
• Project Site / Internal management – Site progress meetings, risk workshops, KPI’s, monthly commercial reporting, operating statements, cost-value reconciliation, outturn cost analysis, executive summary, feedback reporting, archiving.
