An excellent opportunity for a specialist Technical Due Diligence Chartered Building Surveyor to lead this independent property consultant’s continued development and promotion of TDD on a national and European basis to increase their status in the marketplace to make this development, built assets and sustainability specialists with a reputation for integrity and delivering work of the highest quality the ‘go to practice’ for TDD in the industry.

This will be a joint leadership role for the TDD service line, coordinating major TDD instructions involving extensive business development and client relationship management across existing and new clients.

Key Accountabilities

Primarily working within the commercial sector:

  1. To deliver high level TDD projects in the UK & Europe to a high standard
  2. Support the development and implementation of a TDD strategy for this property consultancy
  3. Business Development and client relationship management
  4. Keep the consultancy up to date on latest TDD thinking
  5. Write thought leadership pieces to be sent to industry press
  6. Develop and grow the consultancy’s TDD service line

Performance criteria

  1. MRICS with minimum 10 years PQE
  2. Degree in Building Surveying
  3. Demonstrable track record of delivering TDD in London and South East England on all types and sizes of buildings
  4. Supporting clients in their asset acquisition/disposal negotiations and resolving issues raised by TDD
  5. Manage Transactional Services (team) and supporting engineers/specialist sub-consultants
  6. Work with clients and manage their expectations and requirements
  7. Project acquisition and nurturing client relationships (ability to take a brief, prepare fee proposal, agreement on scope of works and lead the delivery)
  8. Excellent report writing skills
  9. Internal final quality assurance
  10. Lead internal working party to engender best practice, maintaining ‘best in show’ templates and service line delivery
  11. Liaise with external stakeholders, such as RICS, in the creation or updating of professional guidance notes, lecturing and writing articles
  12. Experience of working in a pro-active commercial environment
  13. Able to meet fee targets and generate new business through building successful client relationships
  14. Commercial awareness
  15. Embraces use of technology to deliver work efficiently
  16. High level of up to date technical building knowledge
  17. Happy to travel throughout the UK and Europe, potentially at short notice

Skills and behaviour

  1. Known within transactional markets, predominantly in the UK
  2. Good reputation and contacts with London agents
  3. Assist the marketing team the production of bids and other marketing collateral
  4. A specialist in TDD with very high attention to detail and quality
  5. Experienced in coordinating portfolio surveys
  6. Aptitude for and track record in BD & CRM within TDD
  7. Proven ability to support a team and mentor/develop junior team members
  8. Confident and concise communicator both verbally and in writing
  9. Business focused
