Contracts Engineer- Piling
Salary: £40k+ Pkg

As a Contract Engineer, you will be responsible for the supervision of Underpinning and Mini Piling contracts within the North East area, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, in line with design and specification and providing maximum financial return.
Reporting to the Area Manager the role involves the management of multiple contracts in a safe and effective manner, in accordance with company procedures and client expectations. Involves working closely with clients and other staff in ensuring the delivery of projects on time and within budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that site safety is top priority, highlight issues and propose solutions.
- Effectively manage the pre-contract phase of works, liaising with design & estimating to ensure a cost effective site establishment and progression into works.
- Prepare job specific method statements/contract plans/ITPs.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal departments such as the plant yard and purchasing to order items required for the job site.
- Build a good working relationship with the client and liaise with them to keep them up to date with site works and any changes that may occur.
- Ensure detailed site records are maintained.
- Prepare budget to ensure the job will return sufficient money and to ensure there has been no shortfalls within the estimate.
- Produce weekly cost reports.
- Discuss with foreman the design requirements ensuring they fully understand.
- Manage size of labour levels required to complete project efficiently.
- Work in line with internal management quality system.
- Forward plan to determine potential issues and determine solutions.
- Manage subcontractors effectively to ensure they deliver in accordance with our and the clients expectations.
- Manage product quality and site environmental operations in line with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Close off quality plans and write end of job reports.
- Depending on project size, may be required to run 2 or more projects simultaneously.
REQUIREMENTS:
- The successful candidate will have an operational background within the construction industry ideally in a supervisory or management position. You should hold a HNC/ Degree in Civil Engineering and be able to contribute to the design process.
