A main contractor with over £50m turnover is on the lookout for an experienced project surveyor to be based in Kent. Ideally to have experience working on healthcare projects.

My client operates across a broad range of sectors, including housing, large regeneration schemes, education, health and mixed-use. We have built a reputation as a leading regeneration business working to provide cross subsidy partnerships including an increasing portfolio of development opportunities including private sale. A typical scheme has a construction value of £22m to £60m and will be primarily residential based. We also manage a smaller proportion of education and healthcare schemes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Financial cost control of current contracts
  • Financial reporting of current contracts
  • Improving financial return of current contracts
  • Delegation and mentoring junior staff
  • Cost Control of building contracts
  • Cost advise to Contracts Managers
  • Purchasing and negotiating Sub Contract orders
  • Paying and monitoring Subcontractor progress
  • Cost reporting and forecasting out turn costs
  • Client Liaison and Value forecasting for Client Team
  • Maximise monthly cash flows
  • Maximising contract Value
  • Maximising profit
  • Monitoring progress of purchasing of Sub Contract orders
  • Managing small teams
  • Mentoring and training small teams
  • Monitoring progress of subordinates
  • Setting standards and targeting subordinates
  • Promote Company Values
  • Identify Risks/opportunities
  • Identify priorities

Experience Required:

  • Recognised qualifications, HNC minimum (or related), backed by strong experience in a similar position.
  • Strong previous experience as a quantity surveyor gained within a main contractor.
  • Numerate, organised, analytical and good leadership skills.
