Senior Planning Engineer Claims
You will work within our clients management team as a Forensic Planner reporting to the head of planning; “depending on your level”. We require senior established forensic leads & senior planning engineers looking to build their claims knowledge & experience to further their career.
The wider team also includes Quantum Experts, specialists in procurement, project management and project recovery. The intention is to develop the right candidate within pushing onto a path toward gaining their own Expert appointments & developing their own division.
Education/Qualifications:
- Graduate calibre, with construction related degree preferably in Surveying, Construction Management or Engineering. Second/ Masters degree an advantage.
- Ideally professionally qualified or on route to Member qualification: CIOB, APM, RICS, ICE or I StrucE or similar. Legal experience or training useful.
Experience:
- Strong experience in project planning with strong site-based experience (A MUST).
- First-hand experience within the planning & reporting functions on construction projects.
- Solid experience in a planning/project controls environment.
- A sound theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of critical path planning methods and their applications.
- Experience in preparation and defence of delay claims.
- An excellent working knowledge of some or all of the market leading planning software tools (e.g. Asta PowerProject, Microsoft Project (MSP2010/MSP2013) and Primavera P6).
- Successful candidates will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to analyse technical drawings, contracts and specifications, to understand the methods and logistics of a project and to interrogate, analyse and understand programmes across a range of project types and values.
- Enthusiastic, self-driven, determined and thorough in approach.
- Experience of managing a team in the preparation of detailed analysis and written reports.
- Capable of working independently and carrying out analysis and interpretation of complex data and then presenting conclusions in a clear and concise manner.
- A keen interest in contractual and legal matters.
- To be prepared to work in other locations around the UK and internationally for limited periods.
Desirable’s:
- Masters in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution or other relevant Masters Degree.
- Experience of construction projects at all stages of their development and across a range of sectors.
- CAD skills and/or good BIM awareness.
- A desire to develop as a forensic planning expert, giving evidence in formal legal processes and/or to support the expert directly in that role.
