A2Dominion ramps up homes target to 6,000
Housing association and property developer A2Dominion has shaken up its commercial leadership team to deliver a 50% hike in construction over the next few years.
A2Dominion had previously planned to build 4,000 homes by 2020, but has raised its ambition to now deliver 6,000 units, with many more for private rent and sale.
The revised land strategy at A2Dominion is being supported by key changes to its group’s executive management team.
Former St George London director Nick Hutchings, who now runs A2Dominion’s south east operation, is being promoted to managing director of group commercial operations from October.
To ramp up delivery A2Dominion is moving towards a more centralised model of delivery within its commercial division and standardised ways of working across its regions.
This includes the creation of six new director roles reporting directly to Hutchings.
His appointment comes as group commercial officer John Knevett and London commercial director Nicholas Yeeles both announced they will leave the group in 2018 after almost 50 years’ combined service.
A2Dominion, which recently recorded a surplus of £84m and revenue of £372m, now aims to have more than 40,000 homes in ownership and management by 2020 and 45,000 homes by 2025.
It will build around 40% for private sale and 60% for both private rent and affordable products, including affordable rent and shared ownership.
Darrell Mercer, Group Chief Executive, said: “This is an exciting time for A2Dominion as our ambition is to develop 1,500 new homes each year by 2020.”
Last year, the group started work on 868 new homes and now has more than almost 37,000 homes in management across London and southern England.
