Assistant Estimator / Quantity Surveyor (Main Contracting) | Permanent | Bishops Stortford, Herts

A highly respected and reputable Main Contractor that have been operating for over 80 years’ have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis, based from their offices in Bishops Stortford, Herts.

The company carry out high quality restoration and refurbishment services to residential and commercial properties, including listed buildings. Their experience of blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative techniques has led to the business being awarded a number of prestigious projects over the years.

Business is going strong and with a number of exciting projects currently ongoing and in the pipeline, they are looking to bring in an Assistant Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team. This is a great opportunity to work alongside the company Directors and develop your commercial skills with a highly respected Main Contractor. The role will be office based with occasional visits to site; with most projects located in Central London.

Criteria:

• Ideally Degree Qualified
• 1 to 2 years’ experience working for a reputable contractor within the construction industry
• Good commercial awareness
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency using office IT applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word or equivalent software
• Can take instruction and effectively carry out tasks
• Full UK Drivers’ License
• Able to commute to Bishops Stortford on a daily basis
