Business Development – Civil Engineering
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 + Pkg

A regional civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced BDM to work alongside the compnay Director to maintain current client base but also develop new client relationships.
My client are a growing contractor with a turnover c£100m + and need someone to help them grow the business to aid the 5 years business plan. The majority of the work is within the civil engineering and utilities sector with work acrossthe UK.
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
- Maintain existing business relationships
- Generate new relationships and opportunities, tenders and negotiations in line with sales targets and key opportunity criteria.
KEY RESULTS AREAS
- Reporting of market and sector research
- Generation of key opportunities for the business. “Key” being defined by procurement route, client, professional team, resource availability, scope, programme
- Development and implementation of work winning strategy, in conjunction with the business plan
- Meet targets for designated Projects in line with long and short-term work winning
- Monitor and report progress of pipeline vs opportunity and foreseeable peaks and troughs Client interface
- Develop client and consultant relationships, which are key to the business in order to influence and secure opportunity by providing invaluable feedback to the business
- Identify new potential key clients for the business
- Feedback positive and negative opinions and messages from Clients and Consultants
- Develop and maintain high level individual profile in the industry
- Develop and maintain contacts across all key disciplines – PM/QS/M&E/Architects
- Develop strategic approach to business development, focussed on the activity occurring within the relevant sectors. Collate theory and research in order to support suggestions for business plan re-profiling

- Proven experience of working in a similar role
- Experience of the Construction, civil engineering and utility industry
