We are currently seeking a Network Engineer to work for a main Civil Contractor who works across the UK specializing a variety of civil engineering sectors with a primary focus of Highway Maintenance based projects. Role will be based in Area 9, with the candidate expected to travel intermittently to various project sites when required and expected to work extra hours outside the regular working hours.

Relevant Qualifications/Skills needed;

  • Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering
  • Progressed steadily from an Engineering background
  • Previously worked on Civil/Highway sectors
  • Relevant experience of working within the highways industry including knowledge of construction, design, scheme delivery, network operations and asset management
  • Driving Licence

Responsibilities;

  • Actively promote Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Promote use of, and compliance with, the SHEMS system
  • Work in conjunction with the Operational team, team leaders, Asset Development and Commercial team in order to deliver project within require time frames
  • Develop and deliver emergency schemes on the network including programming, scheme plans, resource planning, record keeping and handovers.
  • Prepare scheme packs, analyzing and managing risk and methodology of works in line with CDM regulations.
  • Provide programmes to efficiently manage the network and the resources employed
  • Liaise with senior managers and key stakeholders
  • Assessing plant and material needs for work to be carried out, undertaking risk assessments & safety checks, tool box talks and audits, review daily productivity targets to ensure budgets and teams are managed effectively.
  • Ensure that team members are provided with briefing statements, and clearly communicate any changes.
  • Attend regular team meetings (to include sub-consultants) in order to plan the immediate work, co-ordinate disciplines and identify any areas of concern on deliverable.
  • Ensure that the requirements of all relevant authorities are incorporated into schemes as appropriate.
  • Undertake relevant inspections / audits
