QUANTITY SURVEYOR

About the role

Due to substantial growth within this sector of the organisation. Our client is a leading contractor in the high end private education sector working alongside prestige clients. There are 2 projects based in Victoria and Liverpool Street where are seeking a strong quantity surveyor from a contracting background.

Duties

•    Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager with respect to the commercial performance of allocated workbank sub-projects
•    Ensure all commercial activities are operated in accordance with Company procedures
•    Cost Control and monitoring of expenditure with the assistance of the Finance Team to ensure accurate and up-to-date forecasting
•    Identify potential overspending to ensuring early awareness of the exposure to minimise cost overruns
•    Ensure Sub-contract applications are valued correctly and notice of payment details and, where appropriate, withholding notices are issued on time
•    Assist in ensuring Main Contract and Sub-Contract Final Account work is progressed as the work proceeds
•    Prepare fully substantiated interim valuations and final account submissions

Requirements

•    Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction Management, Civil Engineering
•    A comprehensive level of commercial/ quantity surveying experience preferably with a Main Contractor
•    Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
•    Working on refurbishment, fit out our new build projects minimum values £1 million
•    Strong commercial skills
•    Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative
